The candidate should possess the following skill sets:
Fire Alarm Installer/Technician
- Perform installation, service and inspection activities on fire alarm systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications and schematics.
- Supervise and inspect the installation of equipment to meet customer specifications.
- Performs all tasks required for complete installation of fire alarm systems.
- Cable installation
- Device mounting
- Wiring devices and control panels point to point
- Programming and testing system head end equipment
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of applicable codes (State, NFPA, etc.)
- NICET Certification
- Ability to be bonded
Fire Extinguisher Inspection Technician
- Perform Annual Inspections on portable, wheeled and fixed fire extinguishers to NFPA 10
- Ability to test and recharge fire extinguishers
- Knowledge of applicable codes (State, NFPA, etc.)
- NAFED Certification
- Ability to be bonded
Fire Sprinkler Inspection Technician
- Perform inspections per NFPA 25 on various types of fire sprinkler systems
- Perform Backflow preventor tests as required by state and local codes
- Appropriate state inspection technician licenses
- Appropriate Backflow Tester Certifications
